Nyingchi Prefecture

Nyingchi Prefecture is located in the southwest border of China and the western part of the Tibet Autonomous Region.

As of September 2023, it governs 1 municipal district, 5 counties, manages 1 county-level city, 56 townships (towns, streets), 504 villages (communities), and is home to 35 ethnic groups including Tibetan, Han, Menba, and Luoba, as well as the Piba people, with a permanent population of 238900.
